The computer is working again so all is well (though we’ve ordered a new laptop now, for travelling as well as home). The power supply seems to be the faulty part, lucky I had a spare.
I went with Ollie to a concert by Feist at Scala on Tuesday night. Sitting outside at a pub drinking in the sun was almost as enjoyable as the concert itself. My bag was confiscated due to my professional looking camera so there are no photos. On Thursday night Keryn and I saw the Scissor Sisters perform at the O2 Arena inside the remodelled Dome and we had a good time. No finicky photo police this time so there are Scissor Sisters photos in the gallery. Yesterday we went to the Ben & Jerry’s Summer Sundae at Clapham Common along with Patricia, Sam and Katherine. It was a good day, there was sun, good food, music and lots of ice cream.

Got home, turned on the computer and not much happened. Got Keryn to come and see that the computer was “doing that thing I told you about the other day” and she told me it had turned itself off. Several hours of poking, cleaning, removing components and trying different combinations of graphic cards have led me to believe we probably have a motherboard problem. We were looking at buying a new laptop…we may now need to get a cheap PC as well. Why does our first proper computer problem in four years have to be so complicated?
…
If anyone says “have you tried rebooting?” there may be violence.

Photos of the Outsider Festival and our trip around the Highlands are now in the Gallery. Most of the photos have been there for over a week now, I just keep forgetting to mention it. Oh, and Richard (star prize for looking at photos before I mentioned they were there) it is a shark, a basking shark no less and all of 20 feet in length.
